What is a good Verizon phone?

I have had the env2 and env3 and overall I wasn't that happy with either of them (mostly because it received most of my texts late) I recently replaced my env3 with the octane, but it is already turning on and off by itself and has issues with sending messages at times. I have never dropped my octane either. Has anyone bought a phone from verizon and been mostly happy with it? Please do not suggest a smartphone for me because I am not going to waste my money on a data package each month.
