I enjoy sports betting but I don't feel I am complusive. I only place a few $1 bets a few times a week, but I don't do it to the point where I either don't have enough money or know for certain that I can't win a certain bet. My wife knows I gamble, but I'm using my own personal money to place wagers. She's afraid that things can get worse but I have re-assured her time and time again that I will not let it affect us and I do it in a very responsible manner. 2005 Toyota Tundra...good investment?

I'm considering buying my friend's 2005 Tundra Access Cab SR5 with the 4.7L V8. He bought it certified used at a local Toyota dealer with 78,000 miles on it in 2008, and it now has 130,000 on it. The truck has been maintained according to the recommended intervals, and has always run a good full-synthetic oil and 91-octane gas from Chevron or other top-tier fuels. I need it to last me at least another 100-150k miles...and I'm wondering if it's reasonable to expect that from it? It's very well taken care of, it gets washed every weekend and waxed every month. The truck has never towed in its life and only gets revved high when getting on the interstate or passing. I know it's a Toyota and should last forever but is another 150k miles asking too much from this truck? I expect for it to need repairs every now and then, but I want to avoid powertrain rebuilds or anything like that.

Problem after shaving?

If half those gallons cost an extra $.24/gallon to get 93 octane, than you'd pay an extra $55/year - about $1 per week. That's no big deal!

My motor starts great, idles just fine, trolling speed, no problem, wide open runs great but when I hit the throttle is stammers a bit ( 2 or 3 seconds or more ) before it smooths out and takes off. I have changed plugs, gapped them at 30 thousand and have the factory recommended plugs in it. Also tried a tank of fresh high octane gas ( no ethanol in it ) and mixed oil carefully at 50 to 1. I stored my boat last year and drained it for the winter with no ethanol and Sea foam stabilizer was ran through it before running it dry and storing it. I have check tanks for any junk and there super clean. I can't think it would be dirt as it will run good top speed for long periods without a miss. Just at take off when I hit it. I have a 1980 Triumph TR7, I got it to run about 90% after having not run for about 8 years. What I didnt realise was that the gas guage was broken. I was just running it in my driveway when my friend revved it and it died. I knew I had run out of gas but my friend refused to believe it. So he put a ton of starter fluid in the carbs and tried to run it and it ran for a few seconds. Then I finally filled it with 93 octane. Now it barely starts, it runs on 3 cylinders and it wont idle it just dies when you let go of the gas. I opened the carbs and the carbs and the needle stink like starter fluid and ether. There really aren't any great ones. They generally don't do much. If you dump a bottle of one into your tank of 87 octane, you might get 88 or 89 octane. If you dump it into 93 octane, you may not even get 94. Lucas oil makes the best one, as far as off the shelf stuff goes anyway. In most cases you won't see any benefit from it. The one time I have used that stuff was when someone accidentally filled my car ( which is tuned and requires 93 octane) with regular. I dumped a couple of bottles in and drove it carefully for the rest of the tank.

Some Anime A 34 Year Old Woman Would Like?

I'm REALLY into anime, I watch TONS of it; in fact it's probably unhealthy! Well, I was On Demand and saw Eden of the East and was bored; so I turned it on. My mum who is 34 (I think) actually found it quite interesting which was a suprise considering she's never liked any of the things I've seen. I found out that on top of watching the anime with me on the TV, she was searching it on her computer to finish watching it. 2001 kawasaki ninja 250 wont start.. tried everything!!!?

k.. so i posted about a week ago about my 2001 ninja 250 not starting.. ive tried everything and it still wont start.. i dont understand it. well heres the whole scoop as short as i can type it.. late last year my bike started flooding itself out it seemed like after running only a few minutes. well i had a shop clean the carbs up. they said thats all that needed done. well my bike ran for about a month after that, then one day i came out to my garage and my bike had leaked oil, or gas on the ground.. well when i would try to start it it would be hard to start but would eventually start but die, well winter went by and i was too busy to mess with it. this year been working on it like crazy. it now will not start at all. the bike has new plugs, gapped perfect, and it IS getting spark.. battery is good, fresh oil change,(also when i changed the oil there was a lot of gas in there.. no signs of engine damage like metal shavings or anything.. i heard its usually carb issue when gas gets in the oil..) 3/4 tank of gas, i also put a can of octane booster in the tank per advice from a guy i know who builds bikes. just in case from sitting during winter the gas varnished or turned to water. i also took my carbs off and cleaned them up myself. carbs looked good.. under float bowls were very clean. removed the main jets.. or pilot jets.. not sure which one, and they were very clean too. sprayed the carbs very well with carb cleaner and looked like everything was fine. well put it all back together with no problems and still wont start. doesnt even sound like it wants to start. tried starter fluid and it still wont fire. i had a friend stop by who is a mechanic for nissan and has worked on cars his whole life, and we tried everything and he was even stumped.. he had no clue why it wouldnt start. he said there seems to be no electrical issue and bike gets spark, has gas, etc. anyone know what the issue may be?? the only thing i could imagine it POSSIBLY could be is the carbs. being that i only took one jet off each (easy one right under float) and not everything else, (not familiar with carbs and didnt know how to completely disassemble). ive heard sometimes the carbs look great but some jets or parts are plugged up. but my mechanic friend said that with everything we tried it still should have fired over even if it would die right away. but i need some help guys! any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! thanks!!!

What's wrong with my car?

I drive a 2005 dodge stratus (sxt?) and just got it from my sister and brother in law just over a week ago. They took real good care of the car and just finished paying off the car in April. They had it fully checked in May before handing it over to me. The mechanic said that the car was good to go and gave it an oil change. The car has over 99000 miles on it. I was driving it home and hadn't noticed any problems with it. All of a sudden, while exiting of the ramp to go home, the car just came to a complete stop! The check engine light came on along with the oil light. I tried turning off the car and restarting it to no avail. I unfortunately had to have the car towed. My brother said it could have been one of three things wrong with the car: alternator, ignition coil or starter. Those things didn't sound too bad and the cost of fixing either three was in my budget. But this morning, I got a devastating call from the shop. The timing belt was worn and overdue for a change and had caused damaged to my pistons. Now with my pistons shot, my engine was shot. The mechanic then said my best bet was to get a new engine or at least a used engine to get my car running again. That's way out of my budget (he quoted me at $2000) and already replaced my timing belt and water pump (I think) without any consent. Is there something else that could have gone wrong? I'm a girl and I feel like I might be getting screwed just because I have no idea what the heck went wrong. PLEASE HELP!!!

Actually the 87 is better than the E-10 85 octane. In some areas there is ethanol in all of the available fuels so you have no choice but to use what's available. However you will get better performance with higher octane.

2006 Chevrolet Aveo lurches when driving?

I haven't had many problems with the car until recently. When I'm driving and going a steady speed sometimes accelerating in first or second gear, the car will lurch a few times. It feels as though the engine isn't getting enough fuel. I took it to a mechanic I know and he said to try and change the fuel filter. Problem is I was told the fuel filter is integrated into the pump. So if I want to replace the filter I have to replace the whole pump. Someone suggested I put in high octane fuel. I'm not sure what I should do or what it could be. Any suggestions?

What is the octane grade of Ford's Duratec 3.0L V6?

I'm going to be looking for my first car fairly soon and I was looking at either a Ford Taurus or a Lincoln LS. They both have the same 3.0L V6 and I'm pretty sure that the Taurus would use regular unleaded, so, using common sense, since the same engine was in the LS, it would also use regular octane. But no, people were telling me it takes premium unleaded. Now I know that higher compression ratios mean higher octane, but it's the same engine for crying out loud. So, my question is, WHAT IS THE OCTANE GRADE ON THE LINCOLN LS V6?? I already know the V8 uses premium since it's a Jaguar engine, but the V6 has a Ford engine. if you think the engine has a bit low miles then the compression ratios should be high and it makes a difference which you cant really notice. but if your car has too many miles then no use.

Can I use regular unleaded (87 octane) gas for BMW 525 i (2003)?

Yeah you can use it with no problem. I have a 2002 325i and I have put 87 octane in it since I bought the car three years ago and have had no problems. The engines are designed to compensate for the lower octane. I talked to my mechanic, who only works on BMWs about it a few years ago to make sure I wouldn't wreck the engine and he said that it will have no ill effects on the car other than a slight drop in performance that you probably won't notice unless you are an extreme driver. He said he even uses 87 octane in his BMW since it doesn't make a huge difference. Go ahead and use it and save that money for the wonderful repairs that come along with owning a BMW.

Shell v power 91 vs Petro Canada 91?

Why dont you ask the manufacturer????? Anyways its the octane that matters not what is put in the mixture of the fuel. 87 octane will detonate under less pressure then 91 octane. Therefore if you were to put 87 in it that would make a difference because it would detonate before it hit full compression so the spark plug wouldn't ignite the fuel when it is suppose to. This is because you probably own a car with high compression something above 10:1 probably. So in conclusion one companies 91 octane should preform the same as another companies 91 octane.

2000 Mustang V6 Tuning Question?

Please Help me with my cell phone!?

I recently bought an LG Octane from Verizon and when I send a message, even if it is to a Verizon customer, no little check appears next to their name in the sent page. Usually, on most Verizon phones, in the sent folder a little check will appear when the Verizon recipient actually gets the message. I found this very helpful. Although, on this cell phone all that appears is the arrow, even though these people used to receive checks by my old phone. Basically, I was just wondering if anyone else has this phone and possibly this problem. If everyone else does not have the checks, I guess the phone just does not support that. Lg Octane or Kin Two m?

im getting a new phone this week, and i've narrowed it down to the lg octane and kin two m for verizon. im still not sold on touch screens, my old samsung glyde was horrible and is now broken, but on the other hand my ipod touch works flawlessly. i'll be texting a lot more than i'll be calling. camera isnt a huge deal but i definately dont want a janky 1.3mp camera. what do you think i should get?

spark plugs, wires, and a hot coil will help. A thinner oil will also help. Smaller tires will also help some, although they will throw your speedometer off. Intake and exhaust will add a few more horsepower by letting the engine "breathe" easier. If you want to go even more into it, a bigger throttle body, with aftermarket intake manifold, and bigger injectors. You could also reprogram the ECU.

2007 Nissan Sentra Engine/Transmission Issues?

For the past couple of weeks I have noticed a pinging from my engine compartment. Did some research and found that a possible problem could be the fuel octane I use. So I upped the octane of fuel I use to see if that would help. Well 3 full tanks later the problem has gotten worse. I have also noticed a loud whine when I accelerate and today lost partial power from the engine. Driving on the highway the sentra started to rev RPM's from 3k to 4k automatically (no change in gas pedal location) at a speed of approximately 70 mph. After about 5 miles of that, sentra then decelerated to 65 mph but was pushing 4k+ RPMs. Once I excited highway and started the turn off to the crossroad, the vehicle had no acceleration or normal power (cruising at most 10 mph). Even if i floored the gas pedal, RPM's stayed below 2k and never exceeded 10 mph. There are no warning lights illuminated on the dash board, with the exception of the tire pressure light. It is a 2007 with approximately 80k miles. Can anyone help with this issue????????

Having a shower prepared by a friend/relative is already seen by some as being "gimme gimme gimme". so you have to pretend you don't want a shower but make it seem like you are obliged to have it to keep the masses happy :) (btw, I decided not to have a shower because I didn't want the negative connotations!) The same exact thing happened to me yesterday. I contacted apple.com and they called me back today. I was told to follow some instructions found in their website and if that doesn't work to call them back and that they would dig further into the problem and try their best to help me figure it out. Anyways, go to apple.com, then clic on SUPPORT and then on the search tab type TS3074. A whole set of instructions will show up and you need to follow them. Hopefully it will work for you, I haven't tried it yet. Also, you can go to their website and under "contact us" you can request for someone to call you as a specific time and help you resolve the issue.
